Thanks to Jalopnik for the link to this video. It's a really nicely done use of tilt-shift and other effects to make this monster truck and demolition derby seem like childs play.

As I was driving to work this morning in my not-very-collectible Miata I was thinking about the 1972 Land Rover I  almost bought and the 19?? Unimog I will likely buy.  Both of them are selling for a really great price.  It makes sense that in a time of economic uncertainty that these type of vehicles are the first to go.  The market for fun, impractical vehicles was booming.  Not so much now.  This is good for the buyer, bad for the seller.

So if you've got the money, now's a good time to find that car of your dreams.  Just be prepared to live in it if things go bad.  Hmm, going to need to convert that mog…

SkyCar is like a dune-buggy that humped and ultra-light.  And that's why we like it!

One of the fears of any flying car enthusiast is, what do I do when the engine dies? Do I crash.  Not with SkyCar!

Should the engine fail, the pilot would simply glide down into the nearest field or strip of sandy desert.

Note:  offer void if you don't live near a field or desert.

Check it out.  It looks like a lot of fun: http://www.skycarexpedition.com/index.php
